Social walls

A Social wall shows the posts from your own Instagram account or Facebook Page on your boards. The board shows only the posts that you approve, or that the wall approves for you.

Each post on a board shows the name of the network, the name of the author and the time of the post.

When to use it

Use it to show your new posts in your venue. For example, a café can show its new Instagram posts next to the counter.

Social walls are on all paid plans.

Connect an account

  1. Open the Accounts tab.
  2. Select Connect Instagram or Connect Facebook.
  3. Sign in to Meta and give NowBoard access.
  4. For Facebook, select the Pages that you manage.

Instagram: use a business or creator account. NowBoard cannot read a personal account.

NowBoard reads only your own posts. It cannot post, and it cannot read your messages.

If a Connect button is off, NowBoard waits for approval from Meta. Your walls still work.

Make a social wall

  1. Open the Walls tab.
  2. Select New social wall.
  3. Type a name.
  4. Under Accounts, select one or more accounts.
  5. Select Create.

New posts arrive in 10 minutes or less.

Approve posts

Under Your posts, select one setting:

  • Show posts at once: your new posts show without approval.
  • Approve each post: a post shows only after you approve it.

A post with a blocked word always waits under Waiting. Use our list of rude words, or type your own words. Hashtags count too.

  1. Open the wall.
  2. Under Posts, select Waiting.
  3. Select Approve or Reject for each post.

To approve many posts, select them and select Approve selected.

Change the posts on your screens

  • Pin: the post stays on the wall, at the start.
  • Remove: the post goes off your screens in a few seconds.
  • Show posts from the last (days): older posts go off the wall.

If you delete a post on Instagram or Facebook, NowBoard removes it from your screens at the next check.

Show the posts on a board

Use the Social Wall template, or Social Wall (Portrait) for a tall screen. The template shows your newest post large and three more posts next to it.

  1. Make a board from the template.
  2. In Content Source, select Add Content.
  3. Select your social wall.

On a custom board, add the Social wall block and select your wall. Select the style: Grid, Carousel or Feature.

Reconnect an account

If the status is Reconnect, Meta stopped the connection. This can occur after a password change. The wall keeps its posts, but gets no new posts.

  1. Open the Accounts tab.
  2. Select Reconnect.

To remove an account and its posts, select Disconnect.

Other networks
