Setting up your first Channel
The setup wizard walks you through creating your first Site and Channel right after you register. Use it to get a Channel playing content within a couple of minutes.
The steps
- Site: add the physical place your Channel is at, such as a shop or reception — it starts named after your organisation, so you can just continue, or type a different name. Add an address to search for it. On the Free plan this step is skipped, since your organisation already has one site from when you registered.
- Channel: name your Channel, such as "Reception", and choose landscape or portrait orientation.
- Template: pick a starting design for your Channel from four suggested starters, each shown with a picture of the finished design. Select Browse all templates to choose from the full library instead. You can swap or customise your choice later.
Once you pick a template, your Channel is created and ready. Copy its preview link, or use Open in new window beside it, to see how it looks in a browser — a preview is watermarked and does not set a screen up. To put it on a real screen, use New web player on the Players page. This last step also shows a QR code and link for the NowBoard Operator App, so your team can sign in from their phones.
Skipping the wizard
Select Skip for now at any point before the final step to go straight to your dashboard. Anything you've already created, such as a Site or a Channel, is kept.
Returning later
Come back to the wizard partway through — closing the browser or signing in again later — and it picks up at the step you left off on, using what you already created, rather than restarting. If you skipped it, or want to add more Sites or Channels once you're done, do it from the main NowBoard dashboard instead.
