Divisions, regions, areas and zones

If your organisation runs many sites, use Divisions, Regions, Areas and Zones to group them for filtering, reporting, and to scope what a user can see or edit. This page explains all four levels together, since they nest inside one another.

The four levels

  • Division: the largest grouping, for example a country or a whole business unit ("UK", "North America").
  • Region: a sub-grouping inside a Division, for example a part of the country ("South West", "Midlands").
  • Site: an individual physical location, managed on its own page. A Site can belong to a Division and a Region.
  • Area: a section within a Site, for example "Reception" or "West Wing".
  • Zone: a specific space within an Area, for example "Meeting Room 2".

So the full chain runs Division, then Region, then Site, then Area, then Zone. You don't have to use every level: use as many as your organisation needs.

Managing divisions

  1. Click New Division and give it a name.
  2. Use the pencil icon to rename a Division, or the bin icon to delete one.
  3. Use Search to find a Division by name.

Which plan includes this

Divisions require the Enterprise plan. On a lower plan, the link in the sidebar shows a lock icon and takes you to Billing to upgrade.
