News
A News list is a named set of stories that you write yourself.
Each story has a headline. It can also have a summary, a picture, an author, a link, a start date and an end date.
A board shows a News list the same way as an RSS feed. Use it in the News feed and News ticker blocks of a custom board, on the news templates, and in the news ticker strip at the bottom of a board.
When to use it
Use News for updates from your own organisation, for example new opening hours, events or team news.
Add stories
- Select New list.
- Give the list a name, for example "Club news".
- Select Create.
- Select Add a story.
- Type the headline and the summary.
- Optional: add a picture, the author and a link.
- Select Add story.
Boards show the newest story first.
Start date and end date
The start date is the date of the story. The story shows on boards from this date. If you leave it empty, the story shows now.
The end date is when the story stops showing. If you leave it empty, the story shows until you delete it.
A story that is a Draft never shows on a board.
Show a News list on a board
- On a custom board, add a News feed or News ticker block. Then select your list under Your news.
- On a board with a news template, add the list to the content of the board.
- For the news ticker strip, select your list in the News ticker settings of the board.
