People
People lists are named groups of people, each with a photo, a role, two short lines of text, a phone extension and an email. Use this page for content like "Meet the team", "Staff on duty" or a staff directory, where Info Cards cannot show a photo or a job title.
What it's great for
People suits any board that puts a name and a face to a role: a care home's staff-on-duty board, or a hotel's meet-the-team spread.
Care homes, hospitals, schools and offices get the most from staff-board-v2, a grid of who is on shift with their role, line and extension. Gyms, hotels, care homes, healthcare venues and offices use meet-the-team-v2 for a warm, magazine-style profile spread, and offices, hotels, healthcare venues and shops use directory-v2 for a two-column staff directory.
How to create a list of people
- Select New people.
- Give the list a Name (this is for your own reference, it is not shown on the board).
- Select Add person for each person you want to add.
- Fill in each person's fields, then select Create.
Person fields
Each person has the following fields:
- Photo: pick or upload a photo from the Media library. A person with no photo shows their initials instead.
- Name: required.
- Role: their job title or role.
- Line 1 and Line 2: two short lines of text. The template decides what these show, for example a one-line bio on a "Meet the team" board, or a shift on a "Staff on duty" board.
- Extension and Email: contact details, shown when the template includes them.
Ordering people
People appear on the board in the order shown in the editor, top to bottom. Drag a person by the handle to reorder them. The new order is saved when you select Create or Save.
Where these lists appear
Once a list is saved, it can be linked from any board whose template supports People, the same way a board links a timetable or a menu. The template draws the people as photo cards or rows. The People column on the list page tells you how many people are in each list, so you can check a list at a glance before opening it. As with Info Cards, a list that is still in draft status still shows on a board that links it.
