Starter layouts in the editor

Inside the layout editor, Templates opens a dialog of ready-made starter layouts you can drop onto your canvas, so you don't have to build common arrangements from empty grid every time. This is separate from the template you pick when first creating a board: it only rearranges widgets on a board you are already editing in the layout editor.

How to apply a starter layout

  1. In the editor, click Templates in the toolbar.
  2. Search by name, or filter by sector to see layouts built for a particular type of business.
  3. Hover a card to see its widget count and description, or check the small grid preview showing where each widget sits.
  4. Click Apply on the one you want.

Grouped by sector

When more than one sector is available, a sector dropdown appears next to the search box so you can narrow the list to layouts built for your type of venue. The Blank layout, which clears the canvas, always appears first regardless of the sector filter.

This is different from moving a board onto a newer version of the template you picked when creating it: see Moving a board to a newer template in Help for that.

What happens to your board

Applying a starter layout replaces your entire current canvas with that layout's widgets: it does not merge with what you already have. If you apply the wrong one, press Ctrl/Cmd+Z (or the undo button) straight away to bring your previous layout back, then save once you're happy with the result.

A starter layout only sets out widgets and their positions. Any widget that needs a content source, such as a Menu List, still needs that source picked in its settings panel after you apply the layout.
