Ranked lists
A ranked list is a named list of scored entries — a name, a score, an optional second line and an optional photo — that a board shows as a numbered table. Use this for fundraising leaderboards, sales tables, league tables, top-ten lists and class results. The order and the way each score is shown are worked out for you, so the board can never show the wrong order.
What it's great for
Ranked lists suit anything scored and ordered: a gym's fundraising leaderboard, or a school's house-points table.
Gyms, schools, offices and clubs stand to get the most from it: schools already run sports fixtures and house-points campaigns but today can only show them as a generic ranked list, and gyms use the same shape for a step-count or fundraising challenge. No board in the catalog reads this content type yet, so a ranked list you build today is ready content waiting for that board.
How to create a ranked list
- Select New ranked list.
- Give the list a Name (this is for your own reference, it is not shown on the board).
- Choose what the scores are under Scores are: Number, Money, Time (seconds) or Text.
- Choose Order: highest first or lowest first. Text scores always keep the order you type them in.
- Select Add entry for each entry you want to add, then select Create.
Entry fields
Each entry has the following fields:
- Name: required.
- Score: a number, an amount of money, a time in seconds, or a short piece of text, depending on the format you chose. Leave it blank for an entry with no result yet — it is shown at the bottom with a dash instead of a score.
- Unit: shown after the score, for example "pts" or "min". Not used for Money.
- Second line: a short line under the name, for example a department or a class.
- Photo: pick or upload a photo from the Media library. Optional — a template can choose to show it or not.
Rank and order
The Rank number next to each entry updates as you type, so you can see straight away where an entry lands once the scores are compared. Entries stay in the order you add or drag them in this editor; only the board sorts them by score. Two entries with the same score keep the order you typed them in. Switching the direction (highest first or lowest first) flips the ranking immediately.
Where these lists appear
Once a list is saved, it can be linked from any board whose template supports Ranked lists, the same way a board links a timetable or a menu. The template draws the list as a numbered table with the top three marked so they can be styled differently. The Entries column on the list page tells you how many entries are in each list, so you can check a list at a glance before opening it. As with Info Cards and People, a list that is still in draft status still shows on a board that links it.
