Safety Counters
A Safety Counter tracks the days since your last accident, and your best run so far. A Days Without an Accident board shows it as one big number that goes up by one every night at midnight, by itself. Any number of boards can show the same counter.
What it's great for
Factories, warehouses, building sites and kitchens: anywhere a big number by the door keeps safety in front of everyone who walks past.
Make a counter
- Select New counter and give it a name, for example "Warehouse".
- Set Last incident to the date of the last accident. If there has not been one for a while, pick the date you want to count from.
- Type your Best run so far in days if you know it. Leave it at 0 if not. It rises by itself when a run beats it.
- Select Create.
The list shows today's count for each counter. A date in the future shows 0.
When there is an accident
- Select Reset today on the counter, in Content or on the board's page, and confirm.
- Every board that shows the counter goes to 0.
- If the run that just ended was longer than the record, it becomes the new record. Otherwise the record stays.
Each reset is saved with the date and the person who pressed the button. Select History on a counter to see them. Only people who can edit content can reset a counter. Viewers can see it but not change it.
"Today" is today's date in your organisation's timezone. The board counts in the timezone of the screen it is on, so each screen changes number at its own midnight, including when the clocks change.
Show it on a board
- Create a board from the Days Without an Accident template.
- On the board's Content tab, add your counter.
- Under Days Without an Accident, change the heading if you want something else, for example "Days since a lost-time injury". You can also hide the record or the counter's name.
This board only counts. It does not record or report incidents.
