Calendar feeds

A calendar feed reads events from an iCal address, such as one exported from Google Calendar or Outlook, and turns them into entries in one of your Timetables. Use it to keep opening times, events or rotas in sync with a calendar your team already updates elsewhere.

Adding a feed

  1. Click Add feed.
  2. Give it a name and choose a Type: iCal URL, Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar. All three are read the same way, so paste your calendar's iCal address whichever you pick.
  3. Paste the iCal URL.
  4. Choose the Timetable this feed should write its events into.
  5. Save. Type and Timetable can't be changed afterwards; delete the feed and add a new one if you need to change either.

What the statuses mean

  • OK: the last sync finished without errors.
  • Running: a sync is in progress right now.
  • Error: the last sync failed. Check the calendar address, then try the refresh icon again.
  • Pending: no sync has run yet.

The tick or cross next to a feed shows whether it's Active. An inactive feed keeps the events it already has, but stops picking up new ones.

Refresh timing

Active calendar feeds are checked automatically roughly every 15 minutes; there's no per-feed setting to speed this up. Use the refresh icon on a feed's row to sync it immediately instead of waiting for the next check.

Which widgets use them

Synced events are written into the Timetable you chose when adding the feed, so they appear anywhere that Timetable is used on your boards. Deleting a feed leaves the events it already wrote in the Timetable, but they stop updating.
