A board's settings

This page is where you configure one board: its name, appearance, the content it shows, and whether it is published. What you see below Settings changes depending on the board's template, since a Menu board needs different options to a Live Video board.

How to edit a board

  1. Change any field in the panels on the left: Settings, header options, and the template-specific panel for this board (for example, Announcement filters, Event filters or Property listing options).
  2. Click Save to store your edits. The preview on the right refreshes automatically after a save.
  3. Click Publish to make the board live, or Unpublish to take a published board back to draft.

A board built from scratch (no template) shows an Open layout editor button instead of template-specific panels; see the editor's own help article for what you can do there.

Show on this screen now

Click Show on this screen to open this board full-screen in a new tab immediately, without waiting for a playlist slot. A QR code and a link both appear so you can open the same view on a TV or tablet browser: scan the code, or copy the link across. The link keeps working for a set time (shown under the code) before it expires.

This is a one-off preview, not a permanent placement. To have a board play regularly on a screen, add it to that screen's playlist from the Playlists page.

What the status means

  • Draft: saved but not eligible to appear in a playlist or on a screen.
  • Published: live, and can be added to a playlist or shown on a screen.
  • Archived: retired, kept for reference.

The status shown next to the board's name updates as soon as you publish or unpublish it.

Duplicating a board

In the Template panel, click Duplicate to make a copy of this board. Choose Same design to copy it whole, content included, onto its current template, or A different design to pick another template instead. Picking a different design shows you which content will come across and which won't before you create anything, since the new template may not show every type of content this board does.

Either way, the copy opens straight away with a name you can tell apart from the original, ready to check and rename. The original board is never changed, and the copy is not on any screen until you add it to one.

Deleting a board

Delete board removes it permanently after you confirm. Deleting a board does not delete the content it was showing (menus, announcements and so on), only the board layout itself.

A Protected template warning means this board carries compliance-related emergency signage. Edit it with care, since changes may affect life-safety information.
