Web URLs
Web URLs are external web pages shown on a board inside a frame: dashboards, status pages and similar sites you want displayed alongside your other content. Use this page to add, edit or remove the sites a board can show.
What it's great for
Web URLs suit any page that already exists and updates itself: an office reception board showing a live status page or dashboard.
Any venue that already runs a dashboard, status page or booking site reaches for this rather than rebuilding it as native content. The Webpage Embed board plays the page full screen and reads its refresh interval and sandbox settings straight from the linked Web URL entry, so there is no per-board setup.
How to show a page on a board
- Add the page here first.
- Create a board from the Webpage Embed template.
- On the board's Content tab, add a Web page and pick the one you added.
How to add a URL
- Select Add URL.
- Enter a Name (shown in the list, not on the board) and the page's URL.
- Optionally add a Description for your own reference.
- Set the Refresh interval and leave Active switched on.
- Select Add URL to save.
Which sites can be shown
You can add any public web address starting with http:// or https://. Some
websites refuse to be shown inside a frame on another page: this is a security setting the
website itself controls, not something this page can override. If a URL you add shows as
blank on the board, open it directly in a browser tab first; if it loads fine there but not
on the board, that site most likely blocks being framed and cannot be used here.
Refresh interval
Refresh sets how often the board reloads the page, in minutes (from 1 to 1440). Use a shorter interval for pages that change frequently, such as a live dashboard.
Active status
Active: the URL can be shown on a board.
Inactive: the URL is kept in the list but will not be shown. Switch Active off instead of deleting a URL you might want again later.
Iframe sandbox
This advanced field controls what the embedded page is allowed to do, as a list of
space-separated tokens. The default, allow-scripts allow-same-origin, works for most
sites. Some pages need allow-same-origin to work at all; removing tokens gives
stricter isolation but may break a page that needs them. Leave this at the default unless
you have a specific reason to change it.
