Pairing a player
Pairing links a new device's hardware to your organisation using a one-time code the device shows on its own screen. You only pair a device once — after that it's a Player you can reassign, rename or remove from the Players page.
Pairing steps
- Power on the new player. It shows a pairing code (and a QR code) on screen.
- On the Players page, press Pair a Player and enter that code, or scan the QR code with your phone to open the same page.
- Choose which Channel it should play at, or create a new Site and Channel on the spot if you don't have one yet.
- Assign — the player starts showing that Channel's playlist within a few seconds.
You can skip the assign step and do it later from the player's own page.
With no players yet, the Players page shows what the TV looks like while it waits, and the three ways to add one: a NowBoard Player or Player Pro, the NowBoard Player app on an Android TV or Google TV, or a web player in any browser. Once you have players, How to pair under the page title opens the same guide.
When a code expires
Pairing codes are one-time and time-limited. If you see "Code not found or expired", ask the device to show a fresh code and enter that instead. If you see "This device is already claimed by another organisation", the hardware is already paired elsewhere — you'll need to contact whoever manages it before it can be paired here.
Pairing from the phone app
Scanning the QR code on a new display opens this same pairing flow in your phone's browser, so you don't need a desktop on site. Once a player is paired, the phone view also lets you check its status, last heartbeat and software version, rename it, change its Channel, or revoke it — all without going back to a computer.
